One thing I think has really changed in my lifetime is the amusement derived from advertisements on television. What's even more ridiculous is that often I will remember the ad, but not what it was promoting. Maybe that means the ad isn't working really? Beer commercials are a great example. Many of them are funny, but they all try to be funny, so I can't always remember what beer was promoted. Probably a good thing...
